The Jobs Office

  • Make/shift HQ, Piazza Fremantle 36 South Terrace Fremantle, Western Australia, 6160 Australia (map)

Unfortunately this event has now sold out!

Part speculative career lab, part imaginative play; this session invites you to explore the work we need to build the futures we want.

The average person changes careers five to seven times in their lifetime. Come down to the Jobs Office and get ahead of the shifting nature of work, and learn how you can get a piece of the action building the kind of world you actually want to come next.

Meet people working in emerging industries, discover surprising pathways into work, and find your place in building better futures. Talks and hands-on activities include:

  • Panacea Design founder Karla Fox-Reynolds on the emerging field of climate adaptation and retrofitting for comfort

  • Hi Neighbour, an initiative supporting young people into jobs in climate

  • WA Social Enterprise Council CEO Olivia Chapman on social enterprise and the future of purposeful work

  • Browse speculative job roles and get creative crafting the job ad of your dreams

  • Join interactive activities to surface what lights you up and personalise your next move, wherever you're at in your journey

Full disclosure: this session uses some AI-generated content. Bring along your laptop and CV if you want to play with this.

Sticking around? Our event ‘Teahouse Tales’ follows this one, and is a more intimate chat about purpose and work over tea and scones. Or for some roleplaying action as a business owner in a crazy world, join our ‘Business as Unusual’ session.

This event is co-hosted with our partners at the WA Social Enterprise Council and Panacea Design.
