Exhibition: The Future Is Something We Make

  • Walyalup Civic Centre 151 High Street Fremantle, Western Australia, 6160 Australia (map)

From Black Mirror to Mad Max, we’ve seen plenty of dystopias by now. What if you could see a more hopeful future right in front of you?

Curated by the Good Together team with contributions from a wide range of practitioners and provocateurs, this exhibition offers a different kind of glimpse ahead. Wander through ideas, prototypes, stories, and practical examples of better futures already taking root across housing, food and more. Some are small. Some are wildly ambitious. All of them invite the same question: what if the futures we really want are already within reach?

We don't need a single grand vision of tomorrow. We need thousands of experiments growing in different places, reminding us that something different and much better is possible.

The Future is Something we Make is hosted in the lobby of the Walyalup Civic Centre throughout the festival, before migrating into the Fremantle Town Hall for the Make/shift Summit.
