Times are tough for a lot of us right now. Rising poverty and an affordability crisis have deflated the future for many, and most of us don’t expect the next generation to have it better than we did anymore. No matter how hard we step on the growth and productivity pedal, wages go nowhere and quality of life slips backwards - but big business and billionaires seem to be doing just fine.

The standard response is familiar: tweak the tax system, fund more services, and get help to those finding it hardest. That’s all essential, but we reckon we can aim higher.
